The route winds through the woods, where, by pedaling, you can discover a remarkable variety of animal and plant species.
At high altitudes, the flora is characterized by beech trees while holly grows in the undergrowth.
Specimens of wolves and wild cats have been reported in the area; while in some specific periods of the year (especially autumn / winter) it will be possible to meet deer that, in this period, go in search of food closer to the structures of the region engaged in the reintroduction of the species in the woods of the Province of Potenza.
For this excursion there are three main variants of the route:
- Nido del Falco variant,
- Variant Sources of Basento,
- Variant of the Monte Carmine Sanctuary.
