Description of Via Ferrata of the Orrido di Foresto
Foresto, a small hamlet near Susa , enjoys a particularly mild climate, so much so that typical plants of the Mediterranean flora grow here. Precisely for this reason, a Special Reserve has been established here for the protection of Juniperus oxicedrus commonly known as prickly juniper.
The ravine, that is the gorge carved by Rio Rocciamelone is located within this reserve and the via ferrata that runs through it, allows you to see splendid places otherwise inaccessible. There are bridges, very vertical sections, waterfalls. There are also badgers, also called Death Trees, due to their poisonousness.
This via ferrata is one of the most beautiful in the Valley both for the route and for the places where it develops.
