Salento Diving

Salento Diving is the sports association dedicated to underwater activities based in Santa Maria di Leuca.

Inserted in a unique environment, made up of surprising landscapes and seabeds, diving enthusiasts will find at Salento Diving a point of reference for organizing their diving holiday or taking part in diving courses.

Salento diving was born from the great passion of divers mostly from the area, united in the aim of promoting and spreading the great values of this sporting practice and, with them, raising awareness of safeguarding and protection of the marine environment.

Through its activities, the association brings diving practices closer to all those who wish to begin a journey of discovery and knowledge of the underwater world, guaranteeing all customers very high safety standards and surprising even those who are convinced that diving is not reserve surprises, showing them the great variety of this practice in which one outing is never the same as another, among infinite colors and the extraordinary changing capacity of the seabed.

With these premises Salento diving is committed to initiatives and projects in the field of training in the underwater field, developing educational paths that involve the diver or aspiring diver from the first theoretical bases, essential for the first approach to practice, placing great attention on the student's direct knowledge of the underwater world, to then encourage and facilitate the continuation of diving training for those who already have diving licenses. For this reason, in addition to the traditional courses, there are many diving specialties that you can find in the school's training courses which will be useful for strengthening your knowledge and your technical preparation.

The primary objective for Salento diving is the training and constant increase of practicing divers, with the ambition of creating a passionate and competent group, which carries out the activities even in the months and is able to keep united with constant collaboration and the development of projects that increase the social interests shared by its members.

The operational headquarters in which the theoretical lessons are held and from which boarding and departures for diving and excursions along the coast take place, is located a few meters from the sea, in Santa Maria di Leuca, hosted by the Circolo Nautico Hotel Terminal.

The courses offered include a complete panorama of proposals:

Scuba Diver

A suggestive experience that will take you to experience your first, unforgettable breath under water. It can be held in a swimming pool or in the sea in similar conditions (shallow water) and under the constant supervision of an instructor.

Open Water Diver

TheThe first patent recognized at an international level enables you to dive up to 18 m deep, in the company of another diver.

Adventure Diver

A specific program for those seeking new underwater adventures, thanks to which you can gain experience and useful skills during diving, always under the direct supervision of the Instructor.

Advanced Open Water

Important certification enabling diving down to -30 m, includes 5 different specialty dives of your choice, performed under the supervision of an instructor.

Rescue Diver

Important course in the management ofunderwater emergencies, with the acquisition of management knowledge and techniques.

Divemaster

The course constitutes the first level in professional paths in the field of managerial roles and leads to obtaining the title of Divemaster. Qualified for: management of group dives, dive guide and assistant of divers in training. It constitutes the minimum indispensable prerequisite for continuing your diving career and access to the IDC (Instructor Development Course) instructor course.
