The meeting point will be Piazza Vittorio Veneto and from here the rich itinerary will wind its way through the beautiful Belvedere from which you can admire the entire city in all its magnificence, then you will visit the Civita district in the heart of Matera.
The price of the tour also includes admission to the beautiful cathedral, to the first cave house and to one of the numerous rock-hewn churches scattered throughout the city. The church of the Madonna dell'Idris is the best known precisely because it still retains most of the frescoes.
In the event that the cathedral is busy for religious functions, the visit will not be carried out.
Matera is also known by the name of city of stones due to its particular configuration: it was in fact built carved into the rock. The descent into the stones will take you through the many alleys that form a real labyrinth. This peculiarity has made it the capital of culture of 2019.
