Riding our splendid horses we will discover an ancient Samnite village dating back to the 4th or 5th century BC. It then became a flourishing Roman town, and renamed as Saepinum, in the Middle Ages it changed its name again, becoming Altilia.

For many years it was an important hub for merchandise and travellers, along the Pescasseroli-Candela stretch. Even today, this archaeological site preserves the signs of its prosperous past intact
There will be a pleasant and exciting stop at the excavations, before continuing the journey and returning to the centre.
