Weekly sailing course for 12/14 year olds with accommodation

Choose a unique holiday for your children: our Weekly Junior Courses, lasting 6 days, aimed at all children aged between 12 and 14.

The courses are organized during the closing period of the school year and are preliminary for admission to courses intended for adults.

For this course there is a service from Lamezia Terme airport and/or bus/train stations to the city of Soverato and vice versa with a companion.

All additional details will be provided after booking.

The children will always be accompanied during the entire period of their stay at the "sailing & holiday".

Requirements and course information:

• Age - you must be between 12 and 14 years old or turn 12 in the year, be in good health and know how to swim.
• Admission - They are aimed at beginners
• Boats - Laser, two-seater dinghies, collective Trident 16.
• Accommodation - In 2 or 3 bed apartment rooms in the city or farmhouse. Companion always present.
• Equipment - neoprene wetsuit recommended.

The courses offered at the Circolo Velico Soverato include daily activities of approximately 5/6 hours divided between sailing theory, with lessons on fundamentals and knowledge of the equipment, and practical exercises.

The basic aim of the courses organized is to introduce children not only to this sport, but also to transmit to them the culture of the sea, using direct and highly practical learning as a means to achieve this aim.

The constant assistance we provide to our children also includes free time, during which our trained assistants offer sporting and recreational activities, aimed at encouraging socialization among guests and integrating this already wonderful experience in an educational way. .

The method includes a varied daily program consisting of games, baths and very entertaining services through which to learn; especially for those who are totally new to sailing, learning will be progressive, on board small and manageable boats.

The boys will have an active part during all the activities of the base and life on board, dealing with the rigging, dismantling and tidying up of the sails, up to the "Corvè" shifts which will concern the common spaces and the life of the group even in their free time, the staff will ensure that all participants are constantly involved both in activities strictly related to sailing education and in those in their free time.

Accommodation will take place at the base; advice on what to bring:
On board you will need to be equipped with comfortable tennis shoes and a k-way (okayeven a light oilskin perfect for not getting wet), hat, glasses and sunscreens to protect yourself, all pharmaceutical products for personal use. For an overnight stay it will be necessary to be equipped with a set of linen (pillowcase and sheet with blanket) or a sleeping bag, according to preference. If possible, light trekking boots for your free time.

The days will be divided according to this typical program (subject to weather conditions):

• 9.00 am - Breakfast
• 9.30 am - sailing theory
• 10.00 am - setting up the boats
• 10.30 am - sailing practice at sea.
• 1.00 pm - lunch
• 2.30 pm - sailing practice at sea.
• 5.00 pm - dismantling of the boat
• 5.30pm Debriefing
• 6.00 pm - free time and games on the beach
• 7.00 pm - return to the base for shower
• 8.00 pm - Dinner
• After dinner - many fun activities in the sailing club: film club, board games, walking in the center etc..)
• 10.30pm - return to the rooms for the night.

The courses are organized according to weekly shifts starting on Monday morning and ending on Friday.

The price concerns the "Permanent" option which includes accommodation for six nights, but it will also be possible to request as an alternative:

• daily option - complete program without overnight stay (end of activity at 5.30pm),
• semi-daily option - morning, only until 2.30pm.

• 9th course from 4 to 8 August
• 10th course from 11th to 15th August
• 11th course from 18 to 22 August
• 12th course from 25th to 29th August
• 13th course from 1 to 5 September
• 14th course from 8 to 12 September.

The stays are managed with the technical management and assistance of an authorized tour operator to whom all contracts and guarantees for the customer will refer based on the legislation in compliance with Legislative Decree 6 September 2005, n.206206
