Civic Aquarium of Milan is located in Parco Sempione, right in the city center, and represents an example of a living museum, an example of education and entertainment in a single space.
The current appearance of the building and the tanks is the result of the 2003/2006 renovation which finally made it possible to reopen the Aquarium for everyone's pleasure. This structure was born in 1906 during the International Exhibition of Milan and is the third oldest aquarium in Europe. What our center seeks is to offer a detailed vision of Italian freshwater and marine aquatic environments. We also have a structure that explains in 18 sections what the path of the water is.
We are proud to play a fundamental role in dissemination and teaching in the school field. We offer multiple itineraries aimed at schools of all levels. We also address a more adult audience interested in scientific dissemination, which we promulgate through the I.S.M (Institute for Sea Studies). A nice opportunity is to participate in photography competitions that offer wonderful prizes!
