The Cattolica Aquarium is located in a stimulating structure whose architecture is inspired by the shapes of a naval fleet, built during the 1930s to be used as a marine colony for the children of Italians living outside nation.
In 2000, the renovation and restoration works carried out by the Superintendence for Environmental and Architectural Heritage were completed, returning this extraordinary building to its ancient splendor.
The area of 110 thousand square meters on which the colony extended, directly overlooking the coast, now houses this Aquarium perfectly incorporated into the urban fabric of the city and equipped with easily accessible accesses and rooms, as well as large car parks available to users.
Outside, a large public park which exceeds 49,000 square meters in size and is available for those looking for a bit of relaxation and entertainment in the greenery, with a beach and quiet areas in which it will be possible to rest but also find all the essential services, including including shops, entertainment for children and events/shows of all kinds, catering.
