DonMar Sailing

DonMar Sailing is a company from the Marche region that deals with boat excursions , located in the city of Numana , in the province of Ancona .

These excursions take place mainly in the Riviera del Conero, a rocky and jagged coast that extends from Ancona to Sirolo and Numana . It is also the only high and rocky stretch of the central part of the Adriatic coast .

The Riviera del Conero takes its name from Monte Conero , a high and prominent promontory of about 572 meters. For many years, the mountain served as a natural harbor for the Greeks and Turkish pirates.

More than 25 years ago, this sea was awarded the European Blue Flag for its cleanliness and water quality. For this reason, dolphins and other types of mammals can be spotted off the coast.

The boat excursions take place on DonMar, a 7-meter wooden gozzo , made up of three sails, built by hand by shipwrights.

Each tour begins in the Port of Numara , and follows a route to the north. Usually you circumnavigate the beaches of Gabbiani , Forni , and Mezzavalle , the Portonovo bay , and the Napoleonic fort .

Tours run from 10am to 4pm. During the excursion you can use masks for snorkeling and explore the seabed of the area.
