The founding members who gave life to the Genoese Speleological Association San Giorgio all come from another group with historic origins, active in the province of Genoa: the Arturo Issel.
Born from an offshoot of that first association characterized by a particularly positive approach to speleology, the new group had its official birth in 1996 and brings with it that particular inclination and enthusiasm.
The movement of growth and constant expansion begins immediately, even if with some initial difficulties, with new collaborations, close correlations with other groups, and more and more outings in the field, until it coincides with the first, very important Introduction to Speleology stage.
Despite the difficulties and bad moments experienced during the years of activity, the good humor and desire to do that has always characterized old and new generations of the San Giorgio Genoese Speleological Association have always borne good fruit and, in doing so, the group has grown further, he organized new editions of his internships and managed to carry out always new expeditions.
