The Biella Speleological Group was officially established in 1961 to promote exploration and study activities in the areas of speleological interest located mainly in the Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy and Sardinia regions. p>
The works and expeditions were, during the first years, managed by a group of around twenty members and led, in the areas indicated, to the reporting and exploration of many cavities hitherto unknown.
The approval of the first statute approximately seven years after its birth coincides with the beginning of an intensive study in the speleological field which is concentrated in the largest karst areas present in the national territory.
Area of the Maritime and Apuan Alps, reliefs of the Lombardy region, the Trieste Karst, Sardinia and much more.
Since then the group has never stopped, become part of the members.
