TheCAI Bolzaneto Speleological Groupis part of the local headquarters of the Italian Alpine Club and has, as a specific section dedicated to speleology, officially born way back in 1956.
The birth coincides with the establishment of the Hiking Group of the same name, made up of very young enthusiasts who started a fervent activity of exploration of the natural cavities in the surrounding area of the Ligurian capital.
Constant growth has accompanied the center since that date, with increasingly frequent excursions and over an increasingly larger territory, thanks also to the links that are slowly being established with important groups in the neighboring regions.
This progressive evolution led, in the seventies, to the successful creation of the first important speleological course "Citta' di Genova" which has remained an eagerly awaited and renewed event every year.
Members face the main notions of descent and progression in a natural cavity through a theoretical path, made up of basic approaches to the activity and knowledge of the environments, and practical activity.
