Gruppo Speleologico Grotte delle Meraviglie

The Gruppo Speleologico Grotte delle Meraviglie will accompany you to discover the magnificent limestone caverns of the Municipality of Zogno (Bergamo).

The geological formation is the one called “Calcare di Zù” and has two accesses:

• Upper access (Büs de la Marta) - consists of a narrow opening located in Ravagnì, which allows descent with a difference in height of approximately 60 meters and through a series of vertical shafts.
• Lower Access - a convenient access route located in the park above the provincial road for the Brembana Valley; an artificial tunnel of 73 meters slightly uphill and with a curvilinear shape leads to the innermost cave.

The Caves of Wonders are a geological complex of modest size but of considerable interest for understanding the process of formation of the cavity and the karst phenomena represented there.

Thanks to the tenacity of Ermenegildo Zanchi (of the Grotte S. Pellegrino Group) the Caves of Wonders were among the first Italian tourist caves in 1939.
