Speleo Club Chieti is a member of the Abruzzo Speleological Federation and a member of the Italian Speleological Society.
Active in the Chieti area since 1963 following the incorporation of the two local entities until then dedicated to speleology: the URRI Group and the CAI speleological section.
The group's research areas have always been directed towards the study of karst environments, through the diffusion and practice of the disciplines of speleology, underground archeology and canyoning.
From a concrete point of view, the Speleo Chieti group pursues these objectives, primarily with the organization of a rich calendar of exploratory expeditions, aimed at the study of the karst phenomena that characterize and give name to this area, with particular interest aimed at the territories of the Majella National Park and the Abruzzo National Park.
The quantity of publications, editorial collaborations and reports produced in recent years by the group which recompile this careful commitment to research and disseminate the results is also fervent.
