Description of Two-hour guided tour of Taormina in Sicily
Are you ready to discover one of the most beautiful and fascinating places in Sicily? Come with us and discover Taormina!
The starting point of our guided tour will be the Ancient Theatre (also known as the Greek Theatre), symbol of Taormina in the world. Since it was carved into the mountain, you can enjoy the view overlooking the Ionian Sea and with the Etna volcano in the background.
The tour continues with a visit to the Naumachia (naval battle), an enormous monumental fountain formed by a red brick wall, 5 meters high and 100 meters long. We will then reach the Odeon strong>, a small ancient theatre, and then Palazzo Corvaia, a Gothic style palace and the most important palace in Taormina.
The visit continues near Porta Catania, with Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano, also in Gothic style, and the Church of San Giuseppe , in Gothic-Baroque style.
The experience ends with the arrival at the Taormina Cathedral, built around 1400 on the remains of a small medieval church dedicated to San Nicola di Bari and probably of a pre-existing pagan church.
The visit will be supervised by a certified and licensed tourist guide, so you will be sure to enjoy the splendor of this city to the fullest.
