Abyss Underwater Activities is an association founded in 2005 by the will of its founders, who wanted to bring together underwater and non-underwater sea lovers, to be able to convey knowledge, love and respect to as many people as possible. for the sea and its inhabitants. The aim of the association is to promote protection and defense of the environment, promote the diffusion of sporting-recreational activities understood as improving lifestyles, with particular reference to all aspects of underwater activities and water sports in general . The center allows you to carry out guided dives in the waters of the Strait (Reggio Calabria, Scilla, Messina, Catona, Pellaro, Lazzaro), to observe the biodiversity that populates it.

But it offers a wide range of introductory courses:

• Minisub course: there is a theory part and one in a well-defined area, in which the monitor explains to the student basic notions on the use of the equipment and performs some simple tests in the water; the course is simply intended to introduce children under 12 to the world of diving.
• Snorkeling Diver course: has a minimum duration of 6 hours, of which 3 of theory and 3 of tests with equipment; it is aimed at people who want to dedicate themselves to observing the underwater world using only light equipment. The lessons include knowledge and use of light equipment, correct movement in the water, marine life.
• Skin Diver Course: in the theoretical part the physical laws that influence this activity, the equipment necessary for free diving, the techniques to be used are examined; it is an aquatics and freediving course, in which the student is trained to move in a new element.
• Introductory Scuba Course: consists of a theoretical lesson to be developed with the help of a small manual, a test in well-defined waters to learn the main diving techniques, an open water experience accompanied by the instructor; more than a real course it is an introduction to diving. If you appreciate the experience you can continue with the normal Open Water Diver course.

Basic courses:

• Basic Scuba Diver Course: is dedicated to people who have a good foundation in aquatic skills but do not want, or cannot, commit to the entire Open Water Diver course; the course qualifies you to dive under the strict supervision of a divemaster, or an assistant or instructor, within a depth of 12 metres.
• Open Water Diver Course: consists of six theory lessons, six exercises in confined waters and at least four open water dives; It is the first course that qualifies you to dive in open water, within the limit of 18 metres, as a couple. The ageminimum for admission is 15 years.

Advanced Courses:

• Advanced Open Water Diver Course: consists of a look at the basic notions plus five exercises (search and recovery, limited or night visibility, navigation, deep water, rescue) preceded by the relevant theoretical part; it is not a specialist course, it mainly serves to complete the knowledge of the certified Open Water Diver and to let him try new diving experiences.
• Advanced Open Water Diver 2 course: the qualification is issued to a certified Advanced Open Water person, who has also participated in the Dive Medic, Rescue Diver and Deep Diver specialty courses.
• Star System Courses: has a program that is divided into three levels, giving greater space to practice in open water, recognizing the importance of this practical part, which is crucial for the correct maturation of the student and which allows one to achieve, in safety, greater depth than traditional courses.
• Specialty Courses: The courses for non-divers enable them to carry out the activities foreseen in the program of the course attended; they are divided into basic level and advanced level.
