ARGO Underwater Research Group Venice has been operating since 1996 with the intention of promoting all underwater activities and cultural initiatives aimed at safeguarding the archaeological heritage of the area.

To this end, it organizes courses for the training of divers sensitive to the defense and protection of the submerged archaeological heritage.

These courses make participants aware of the importance of safeguarding the submerged archaeological heritage, and teach them to correctly report and protect each find.

The patents issued by ARGO Underwater Research Group Venice do not qualify to intervene in archaeological areas, nor to perform recovery operations, but only to assist the work of the professional archaeologist or to carry out research operations on the occasion of the finding of sporadic finds.

The courses include a practical part (surveying techniques and underwater documentation) and a theoretical part (basic notions of underwater archeology and documentation techniques). Contact us for more information.
