Description of Biblioteca Ambrosiana

Come and discover the Ambrosiana Library, rich in art and history, in cosmopolitan Milan!

We are waiting for you at the Ambrosiana, a source of research, dialogue but also strong spirituality.

Born more than four hundred years ago, nowadays it is concerned with protecting true beauty and promoting its knowledge through shows and exhibitions.

The objective is the common good, of people, of the Church and of society.

The Ambrosiana houses numerous and different artistic collections, which you can admire through one of the many tours offered by the structure.

Some masterpieces are worthy of note: Portrait of a Musician by Leonardo da Vinci, School of Athens by Raffaello Sanzio, St. John the Baptist by Salai, the Nativity scene by Fiori, Chiusi Fuori Scuola by Emilio Longoni and many others.

You will have the opportunity to carry out self-guided or guided visits, of different lengths: the 1-hour tour, for example, is perfect for admiring the collection of Cardinal Federico Borromeo, or if you decide to visit the museum with your family, you will be advised on an itinerary to observe the main masterpieces and a series of works in which nature and animals are the protagonists.
