Description of Diocesi di Arezzo Cortona Sansepolcro

We are waiting for you in one of the most beautiful regions of Italy, the splendid Tuscany, to show you the wonders preserved in the Diocese of Arezzo Cortone Sansepolcro!

Come and visit us in Arezzo and visit one of the headquarters of the Catholic Church in Italy, suffragan of the archdiocese of Florence.

This Diocese, in reality, covers two provinces, that of Arezzoand that of Siena, and a small part of its territory even touches the Marche , specifically the provinces of Pesaro and Urbino.

The current diocese was born in 1986, from the union of three ancient episcopal seats: today, in the oldest, that of Arezzo, the bishop's seat is located.

In 1993, it was even visited by Pope John II and, to date, its territory ranks tenth in surface area among the Italian dioceses.

Of great importance are the two museums that the diocese includes, the Museum of sacred art of Arezzo, which has been located inside the Arezzo bishop's palace since 1963, and the Museum of Cortona, established in 1945 and housed in the former church of Gesù and in the adjacent purpose-built building.

What are you waiting for? Come and visit us in Arezzo, in Tuscany!
