The Venezia Servizi Foundation deals with the recovery, restoration and opening to the public of the city's historical and cultural sites.
The Foundation operates in the socio-cultural field with personal services, providing material help and improving people's quality of life. The Foundation believes in the value of art and culture to alleviate the loneliness and condition of its clients, and in the recovery of places of historical and cultural value to make them available of citizens.
Over the years, the foundation has reopened four treasures of the city of Venice and the activity is constantly growing. The Scala Contarini del Bovolois the flagship of the foundation; staircase famous for its spiral shape, meaning bovolo in Venetian, and for its panoramic view of the city.
The oratory of the Crociferi at first sight appears like an anonymous mediaeval building, but inside is where its beauty unfolds. The oratory houses a masterpiece by Jacopo Palma the Younger, famous for his dazzling colours.
The Ospedaletto Complex, however, is an ancient Venetian hospital, inside you can find works of great architectural value such as the Church of Santa Maria dei Derelitti, the Court of the Four Seasons, the Music Hall and the Sardi Staircase.
The last to open in chronological order was the Church of the Penitents, designed by Giorgio Masari, one of the most prominent architects of the 18th century, and decorated by Jacopo Marieschi.
