Don't miss the incredible corner of the Middle Ages, hidden in the woods of Varesotto!
Come and visit us in the province of Varese, in the middle of nature, and discover the beauty of a Lombard monumental complex.
Inside the Archaeological Park of Castelseprio, stands the Torba Monastery, whose origins are very ancient: built in the 5th century BC, as a Roman military outpost, it was transformed into a religious, in the 8th century, thanks to the settlement of a group of Benedictine nuns.
Subsequently, the complex transformed into an agricultural center and, in the nineteenth century, progressively lost its religious function.
Thanks to the intervention of the FAI, which prevented its decline and took care of restoring the complex, today it appears in the lists of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Being one of the stops on the Via Francisca del Lucomagno, the Torba Monastery is truly a magical place, surrounded by greenery, where you can discover a part of Italian history and art.
