Opera Primaziale Pisana (OPA) is a non-profit organisation, created to supervise the construction and maintenance works of the various monuments in the Square.

Equipped with its own statute to regulate the protection, promotion and valorisation of the artistic heritage in question, it undertakes to conserve and transmit its artistic and religious meanings.

Piazza del Duomo, in Pisa, represents the architectural perfection of the Pisan Romanesque style, rich in classical, early Christian, Lombard and oriental motifs.

Specifically, elements such as The Cathedral, The Tower, The Baptistery and The Cemetery, represent the allegory of human life. While the Sinope Museum houses the preparatory drawings found under the frescoes of the Camposanto and the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo provide inspiration for Pisan art and medieval sculpture.
