Kite Sicilia Overpowered is the kite school that organizes training courses of all levels in Ragusa.
The structure of the courses includes a theory and a practice part.
The Basic Course deals, in its basic part, with different specific topics:
- lift (flight reasons),
- knowledge of the different types of kites (four lines, measurements and operation), of the boards (twintip, bidirectional, mutant, directional) and of the harnesses (waist, seat),
- basics of meteorology: the phenomenon of thermal wind, the effect of the disturbance (quantity of gusty wind),
- Safety notions - observation and understanding of meteorological conditions (wind and cloud cover), identification of the favorable wind direction for kiting, kite launching methods, pace priorities.
In its practical part, however, it deals with:
- Preparation of the kite - from the inflation phase to the laying out of lines up to the position on the beach,
- Solo assisted start methods,
- Kite landing,
- 4-line Kite Flying Techniques.
As regards the Advanced Course, the theoretical part involves an in-depth study of the more technical aspects, such as:
- "Up wind" gait tests
- Kite control and management techniques in case of strong winds
- Times and ways to jump
At the center, Individual lessons are also possible, particularly useful for personalized improvement of the technique.
