Stand Up Paddle , also called SUP, is a sport very similar to surfing. You stand on a large board, but to support your weight you help yourself with a special paddle.

Perfect activity for those looking for the thrill of surfing in a more relaxing way, but above all for those who want to enjoy their beach holidays in all fun.

Stand Up Paddle Catania is a school located right on the city beach and which offers both courses of various levels and equipment rental for those who want to have fun without the help of an instructor.

The staff, led by Franco Russo, is a team of highly qualified people, equipped with all the ISA patents needed to teach. Thanks to them you will live an exciting and safe experience.

The school offers the following courses:

• Flat Water Test Course: designed for those who want to get closer to the fantastic world of this sport, it includes an hour of fun between theory and practice in the water. Suitable for those who have little time, or for the undecided who have yet to understand if they want to seriously undertake the SUP. This course does not include insurance.
• Flat Water Course: the real SUP course is just that. It includes four theory and practice lessons during which students will learn both the basics and the safety rules. The goal is to make the navigator independent through less strenuous and very fun workouts. This course includes insurance.
• Individual lessons: in this package the student stays in close contact with his instructor for one hour. The goal is to work on a direct approach between SUP and technical skills, and to learn methodically.
• Monothematic Internships: in these courses it is the student who, having acquired the basic knowledge, sets the program to be carried out in agreement with the instructor. The goal here is to improve all the athlete's shortcomings and allow him to arrive at a harmonious handling technique, in complete control of the board and paddling.

The student is always provided with: life jacket, safety leash, paddle and board.

In addition to the courses, the centre's equipment is also available for the tourist rental. This includes:

• Table
• Life preserver (required)
• Paddle
• Leash

You can rent for an hour, two hours or half a day. An identity document is always required and minors must bring consentwritten by parents.

And if you fancy a guided tour of the beauties of the Sicilian sea aboard a SUP, our staff will take you to discover the whole natural landscape, paddling after paddling.
