Fitzcarraldo is a sailing school born in Brenzone on Lake Garda, born from the passion for sailing that unites different people, each with their own peculiarities and experience.
The main purpose of the school is to prepare anyone who wants to learn this fantastic activity trying to create future sailors.
The courses organized by the nautical center are:
- Promo sailing (min. 8 students)
- Basic (The objectives of the course are to keep a course in light winds (max Beaufort 3), at cross and upwind speeds respecting the code to prevent collisions at sea, rig a keel, balance the boat, know how to keep the sailing upwind and tacking, knowing how to be towed by an assistance boat, knowing how to use seven nautical knots and turning a cleat / cleat, putting the boat in a hood with a neck jib)
- Base Full Immersion (on request from Tuesday to Friday)
- Activities for very young people (8-17 years)
- Altura (min. 4 students) on request from Tuesday to Friday
- Intermediate (min.2 students): knowing how to navigate without a rudder in moderate wind, knowing how to tack by adjusting sails and trim, knowing how to break down with the use of the jib and the pole, knowing how to navigate in a narrow channel, entering and exiting a port, knowing how to straighten a drift after capsize, knowing how to arm a hand of reefs.
- Intermediate full immersion 4 days
- Perfection (min.4 students): knowing how to adjust center of drift, mast rake, vang, cunningham, tesabase, barbers or jib rail, tacking and gybing with roll, knowing how to use the spinnaker with wind up to force 4 beaufort, use of the trapeze, execution of simple race courses.
- Individual courses 10 hours
- Refinement full imm. (min. 4 students) on request 4 days from Tuesday to Friday
