The Volovelistico Aeroclub of Mugello was founded in 1990 by a close-knit group of Florentine volovelisti.
The work was born from the desire of the founders to be able to practice the gliding in an area particularly suitable from the structural point of view, being able to take advantage of a proper airfield and that could become a point reference for fans of the area, not far from home.
The characteristics of the grass airfield are ideal for the activity, the track is in fact 750 meters long and 80 wide with two powerful tows and managed by trained instructors and specialized in this delicate function.
The Volovelistico Aeroclub del Mugello is equipped with a hangar for the shelter of the vehicles provided and for those of the members, an authorized workshop and a club house.
Since 1995, the aeroclub services have been joined by the school of specialized training in sailing, the school is in possession of the ENAC certification, and patents new pilots specialized in driving without a motor every year.
By joining the club you will find a welcoming environment, with many enthusiasts and protagonists even in the competitive field, with whom to share experiences and impressions, for all those who want to experience the thrilling experience of a "silent" flight "it will be possible, every weekend, to experiment in the company of one of our instructors flying in the sky of northern Tuscany, on the Mugello valley.
