Velevento Sailing School is an important sailing school born with the intention of transferring the passion for sailing to all those who love the sea and nature.

Qualified instructors will teach you the techniques to start taking your first steps on a boat or to get closer to the world of regattas and competition.

During the year we organize daily and weekly outings, especially in the summer, for our members.

Every member of the sailing school has access to the special agreements on the services that are offered at our headquarters in Via Montebello 2M, Turin:

Description of Velevento Sailing School Sailing

The sailing courses offered by Velevento Sailing School Vela are divided as follows:

  • Basic courses - For those who intend to approach sailing for the first time and want to learn the first basic lessons how to rig the boat and try the first tacks and jibes !! And by luffing and resting you adjust the sails, you learn a little technical nomenclature and a few knots! The best way to start becoming a sailor !!! Objectives: to acquaint the student with the basic maneuvers and to begin to know the fundamental techniques for running a cabin cruiser in safety Program: rigging and disarming the boat, nomenclature, knots, gaits, tacks, jibes, reefing hands, tacking buoy, hood - possibility of boarding on Friday evening or Saturday morning in Savona. Overnight on board. Disembarkation on Sunday late afternoon
  • Postgraduate Courses - Aimed at all those who intend to perfect the knowledge already acquired, participating in mini-cruises lasting a weekend departing from Savona and heading towards Genoa Golfo Tigullio or alternatively towards Alassio and the Riviera di Ponente . The aim of the course is to bring every single maneuver to the attention of the student so that he or she can manage a cabin cruiser autonomously for medium-short range navigation. The program includes rigging and disarming of the boat, maneuvers in port, use of GPS, sail reduction, improvement in the adjustment of sails, use of cruising gennakers, anchors. Possibility of boarding on Friday evening or Saturday morning in Savona. Disembarkation on Sunday late afternoon.
  • Offshore course - During the course of a week you will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare the boat on a long-range route, to manage the shifts for night navigation, to use all the tools on board, to find and evaluate meteorological information with the aim of gaining the appropriate experience to be able to face the sea in all weather conditions. The courses take place during the spring and summer period.
  • Regatta courses - The course is aimed at participating in an official regatta event. You will learn racing strategies, boat setup and maneuvers, specializing in a role within the team. You will train to get maximum efficiency from the boat and you will learn to perform maneuvers quickly. You will make continuous tacks and jibes, tack change, hoist and lower the spinnaker (bear away, gybe set, tack and hoist, African, German) simulating starts and buoy turns and then put into practice all the notions. regatta event at which the course is aimed.

Velevento Sailing School Excursion by boat offers trips for every level.

On board our boats you can enjoy an original and fun holiday, appreciating the real pleasure of living the sea.

During the year we organize mini-cruises along the western and eastern Ligurian coasts.

In spring we sail along the Ligurian Sea and in summer we touch the marvelous coasts and islands of the Mediterranean: in 2008 we crossed the Tyrrhenian Sea, admiring the Argentario, the Pontine, the Aeolian islands and reached Ionian Greece and the windy Cyclades, in 2009 we instead veered towards the splendid Balearic Islands and in 2012 we went to the south of Sardinia.
