The 1st Zoo Park of European Wildlife originated in 1972 and is the work and idea of Dr. Mattoni Roberto, a veterinary doctor who, supported only by his family, gave life to this center which even today it remains the only one specialized in the conservation of the native fauna of European territory.
The Park includes an area of approximately 50 hectares in which the natural environment is characterized by typical vegetation composed mainly of conifers, but also chestnut trees and centuries-old oaks, which complete the perfect constitution of this area which pursues different objectives in the ecological and educational fields -culturalee.
The Park does not benefit from public subsidies and has carried out its mission with the sole private commitment of founders and visitors.
The park is of great interest not only for its educational aspects aimed at the visiting public, but also from a conservation point of view for the specimens hosted here which have found an ideal environment in which to live and reproduce.
A visit to the European Fauna Zoo Park is a perfect experience for families with children and for integrating educational paths through a school trip, as well as guaranteeing an opportunity to share a unique and evocative experience of discovery of animals and their habits, represents an original way to cement the theoretical path faced by the children during class hours and stimulate the birth of an empathy towards the animal world, difficult to obtain with bookish contact alone.
The park can be visited all year round.
