The Rome Biopark extends over 18 hectares of land within which more than a thousand specimens belonging to 200 different fauna species are preserved. Its opening as a zoological center in 1911 makes it one of the oldest centers of this type to have arisen in Europe.
Mammals, birds and reptiles coexist in this unique and evocative environment, recreated at a botanical level to guarantee the animals' living conditions as similar as possible to those of natural habitats.
The park is open to schools as well as private guided tours, with a wide range of workshops and educational games, but also birthday parties for private individuals and summer camps for children.
In this new concept of zoo, great respect is placed towards the animals and their characteristics and a fundamental attention to knowledge and conscious observation characterize all the organized activities.
