La Rupe is the Wildlife Park created in 1980 in the locality of Civitella Casanova, perfectly integrated into the splendid landscape of the hilly hinterland of Abruzzo.< /p>
This faunal reality is the work of Roberto Locatelli, convinced that preserving animal species must necessarily differ from eradicating the specimen from its natural environment. For this reason, the park aims to welcome, immediately, wild animals that are in the care of protection and conservation bodies, such as the Abruzzo National Park, the Forestry Corps or other zoos.
With this close collaboration between entities, a great interconnection has been created between parks which has brought the original native fauna of the region, made up of brown bears, wolves and lynxes, strong>to coexist withmore exotic specimenssuch as big cats and more: tigers, leopards and monkeys, among others.
Thanks to this great wealth we have acquired the name of Zoological Garden, although, more than the other definitions, the spirit and philosophy of La Rupe is certainly represented by that of Wildlife Park.
A visit to La Rupe Park is an excursion into greenery and nature, it is not, in fact, a Zoo Safari!
