Air Salento

Air Salento is a sports association and flight school certified by the Aero Club of Italy in Rome and the only one in Salento to rely on, for its operations, to new and latest generation aircraft: the ultralight Pioneer 200 and the Pioneer 300 Hawk.

The renowned flight school organizes piloting courses and tourist flights of acclimatization to the splendid Salento area, in order to promote and encourage the knowledge of this incredible territory and flight activity.

All the proposals of the school are organized with departure from the "Corte" Airfield at 3 km. from Maglie (Lecce).

The main commitment of the school concerns training and didactic activities, in order to transmit the aeronautical culture and to teach students a way of flying in total safety, not simply that of "obtaining" a patent.

For this reason, Air Salento , uses a particularly effective teaching method, in which the instructor guides the student throughout the training process, until he is able to fly from "alone". In many flight schools, however, "solo" flights are not allowed and the student is forced to always fly in the company of the instructor ...

To maintain what we believe is the fundamental characteristic of flying activities, fun, at the Air Salento school, insurance coverage is extended to any risk connected to the school and the use of our aircraft.
Therefore: the school, the instructor, the examining instructor, the students and, with the "Kasco" formula, the planes are insured. Finally, alumni, now patented, and passengers are insured to allow them to use our aircraft.

The Air Salento piloting school has certification from the Aero Club of Italy at n.194, and is the only one in the south of the region to rely on the brand new Pioneer 200 and 300 Hawk ultralight aircraft and the Sparviero 100, all fast vehicles, easy to operate and with great performance.

The courses of the Air Salento flight school focus on the transmission of aeronautical culture with its fundamental precepts of attention and professionalism, which will allow the aspiring pilot, once obtained its certification to fly in complete safety.

Our method aims to constantly accompany the student throughout the duration of the training, both in the theoretical and practical parts, which accompanies him until he reaches complete autonomy in flight.

It has always been our belief that flying should be, first of all, a source of fun, for this reason, we thought that we would propose to our members insurance coverage capable of dealing with any inconvenience that may occur in our structure, extending this guarantee to the school, to the instructors and examiners and, obviously, to the students, up to a "Kasco" option for aircraft.

In any case, we remain connected to all our students, therefore even those who have already completed their training course with us and have obtained the license can enjoy this insurance coverage for the use of our aircraft.

For those who have an aeronautical license, we offer interesting flight hour packages at extremely low cost, Air Salento makes the 4-seater Cessna 172M available to its members on board.

The flight school Air Salento , certified by the Aero Club d'Italia of Rome at n. 194, carries out piloting courses on board ultralight and latest generation , such as the retractable landing gear Pioneer 300, the Pioneer 200, the Corvus Phantom and the Sparrowhawk. All equipped with rocket parachute, radio station license and certified as "Advanced".

Our piloting courses are designed to transmit the aeronautical culture and to teach you to fly in total safety and not simply to "buy" a patent. In fact, in our school it is a constant practice for the instructor to accompany the student throughout the training process, until he is able to fly "alone". "We do not understand" those flight schools that, on the other hand, do not allow "solo" flights and force the student to always fly in the company of the instructor ...
