Scuola Nazionale di Volo Libero Blue Wind Hang Gliding

Via Montenero,30 67039 SulmonaL'Aquila

Description of Scuola Nazionale di Volo Libero Blue Wind Hang Gliding

The word hang glider, or "glider" in English, derives from the verb "to glide". The peculiarity of this aircraft is that it can glide thanks to the particular aerodynamic shape of its wings. It is an unpowered free flight specialty and takes its name from the delta shape of the device.

Currently hang gliders allow you to travel about 14 km, even reaching 1000 meters above sea level, the high maneuverability allows you to take advantage of the ascending air conditions to rise above the ground. We compete mainly on the routes established by the school.

The "Blue Wind" national free flight school for hang gliding offers its members various courses, depending on their level of preparation and competence. The courses are structured into a theoretical and a practical part, carried out in parallel to improve the training of our students. The subjects covered are: flight safety, aerodynamics, materials, controls, piloting techniques, meteorology, legislation, navigation, flight instruments, emergency parachutes, physiology and medicine. Cost can be divided into monthly installments.

We have a 1st LEVEL HANG GLIDING COURSE, the duration of which depends on the student's learning time. The insurance covers any accidents and the Rct for the duration of the course and the equipment is completely offered by the school. BASIC HANG GLIDING COURSE instead has a duration that can vary from 6/8 weekends, or you can decide to follow a course Intensive one week in any case in a period between March and September.

The registration fee includes equipment rental: hang glider, harness, emergency parachute, radio, teaching material, manual, questionnaire, quiz, registration with the Italian Federation of Free Flight, RCT insurance, accident insurance for the duration of the course which is approximately 4 months. The lessons take place on school fields to acquire flying techniques. The beginning is very gradual, you move from running on a small slope starting from zero to 30 meters with short lifts from the ground, up to high flights with take-offs exceeding 200 meters in altitude. During this period the pilot will begin his solo flights but always followed by radio by the instructor during take-off and landing phases.

PERFECTMENT
For the more experienced we also offer advanced courses, courses accessible only to those who have successfully completed the basic course. The pilot will have to provide the equipment himself, which he can purchase at the school. He will be able to perform flights of 600-1000 meters in full autonomy and will be ready to assimilate the piloting techniques in complete safety, he will complete his theoretical-practical preparation in order to successfully take the exam required by the Aero Club of Italy.

Description of Scuola Nazionale di Volo Libero Blue Wind Paragliding

Paragliding was born in the late 1970s in France and is now famous throughout the world. Taking off from a meadow, the paraglider wing had to easily inflate at low speed, and then in flight, improve the sink rate and efficiency.

Over the years we have achieved increasingly better performance and a greater level of safety; the level is so high that we are thinking of changing the name from Paraglider to “Paraglinder” or parachute-glider. The races are no longer based on staying in the air but are now based on distance and speed, on increasingly demanding courses.

The “Blue Wind” Paragliding National Free Flight School offers basic courses, tandem flights with an instructor and advanced courses for its customers. The duration of the courses depends on the student's learning time and the weather conditions, the school takes care of providing the insurance (lasting 4 months and including TPL accidents for the duration of the 4 month course) and the equipment for the entire duration of the basic course.

BASIC COURSE
Duration: 6-8 weekends. (Or Intensive one week), at the discretion and availability of the student and subject to weather conditions.

The registration fee includes equipment rental: paraglider, helmet, pilot's harness, emergency parachute, radio, and educational material. The practical exercises take place on the school fields, to acquire paragliding control and management techniques. Once you have overcome this initial approach, you will fly in tandem with the instructor. Two-seater paragliding is the best technique for learning flying techniques; the instructor will only take care of the take-off phase, who will pass the commands to the student who will learn the basic piloting techniques and finally the landing. As the student becomes more experienced, more and more freedom will be given to this which will only be followed from the ground through the help of a radio. Once you have obtained the license you can move on to the Specialization Course.

PERFECTIVE COURSE
The objective of which is to perfect flight techniques. The duration can be 4 weekends or intensive, but in this case the pilot will have to provide his own equipment. It will be possible to carry out flights from 600 to 1000 meters (always under the help of the instructor) and then take the exam required by the Aereo Club of Italy in complete safety.

What are you waiting for to call and experience the thrill of flying in one of the most renowned centers in Italy? We will be happy to provide you with all the information you need... The “Blue Wind” Paragliding National Free Flight School awaits you.
