• Lampedusa, the largest island, is a perfect starting point for excursions. If, leaving the port, you move eastward, you will find Cala Francese, Punta Sottile and a succession of other small coves until you reach Cala Creta with its green spots, created by the rocks of the seabed, on the blue expanse. From the sea, you can admire the Scoglio del Sacramento, the most imposing of the reefs, and a short distance away, only 15 meters deep, is the famous Madonna del Mare, which makes this one of the most popular dive sites on the island and throughout Italy. If you move south, you will immediately find the famous Coves of Croce, Portu 'Ntoni and Madonna. You should not miss the Tabaccara, known as the sea of flying boats, because due to the turquoise color of its waters you have the feeling that the boats are floating in the air.

• Isola dei Conigli, deserves a few words apart, you can't say you've been to Lampedusa without visiting this beach. The walk there is not so easy, 20 minutes downhill under the scorching Sicilian sun is not pleasant and, since you are on vacation, why deprive yourself of the experience of getting there by sea? Once there, you will soon understand why it is one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Declared a Natural Reserve, it is preserved with restricted access, and is one of the few sea turtle breeding grounds in existence.

• Linosa, an island of volcanic origin, is certainly wilder than its neighbor and therefore few tourists know and visit it. Characterized by a peculiar and unspoiled landscape, with few accommodation facilities, it only attracts true nature lovers in its purest version. This is precisely the reason why its waters are the favorite of scuba diving enthusiasts and could, why not, become yours too after diving from a boat.

A boat trip is always feasible, especially if you are in Sicily, a southern region with a wonderful climate all year round and a popular tourist destination from May to October. Just think that Sicilians start bathing in the sea from April and the last swim is postponed until November. Whatever time of year you choose to go, you will have a warm and mild climate. As a recommendation, choose late spring or late summer if you want to avoid overcrowding.
