Syracuse Diving Club in collaboration with the National Center for Underwater Archeology and DEGUWA, maintains an active archaeological qualification and research project on the seabed of Ognina.
The excursions organized by the Siracusa Diving Club take place with the help of the centre's boat, specially equipped to welcome divers on board on excursions and transport their equipment
Since May 1998 the Siracusa Scuba Divers Club - National Center for Underwater Archeology has been involved in the archaeological mapping of the port of Capo Mulini (Catania). The project involves prospecting, complete survey of the site and the creation of a computerized archaeological map of the seabed. After the summer break, work will resume in September.
The second Underwater Surveying Course has concluded, in collaboration with the College of Surveyors of Syracuse. The students who participate will be able to immediately put their training into practice by participating in the research campaigns organized by the Club.
