I am Carla Pau , a environmental hiking guide, and also if born in Sardinia, she has been working in Tuscany for many years.
Tuscany is a region that for its environmental heritage is unique in the world and as a lover of the environment, nature and its ecosystem, I have chosen to live and discover this fascinating territory little by little.
Tuscany presents itself with a geography dominated mainly by hills, which cover more than half of the territory, and a mountainous part formed by the Apennines and then wide valleys. The main mountain is the Prado with its 2054 meters of height, while other important mountains are found in the part of the Apuan Alps and then towards Lucca and Pistoia.
But it is above all the hills that dominate the landscape, where in the central part there are the renowned Chianti hills, on which there are the vineyards that produce the homonymous wine that has depopulated all over the world.
I work mainly in the southern area of Tuscany, where I plan numerous trekking itineraries . These wild areas with luxuriant nature reserve explosions of lights and colors that are unique in the world. The so-called Tuscan Maremma is full of small villages surrounded by greenery, centuries-old trees and various types of vegetation and fauna typical of the area.
In fact, in the Maremma Park, varied from a landscape point of view, it presents on one side sandy beaches like those in the Orbetello area, but also marshes and pine forests. A place to explore in trekking through its paths and with excellent spots for birdwatching .
There are many naturalistic and historical-artistic itineraries such as that of the Abbey of San Rabano , and then incredible views visible by land and by sea such as that of the Towers saracene found in the Parco dell'Uccellina .
We will also visit the area of the thermal baths of Saturnia , and neighboring towns such as Pitignano and Sovona, magical and fascinating perched villages of medieval origin.
Visit the page of Carla Pau , there will be several itineraries!
