ASD Horses and Angeles

The Horses And Angels Association is a Riding Club born in an area surrounded by nature on the outskirts of the VII municipality of Rome , adjacent to the 'former military airport of Centocelle .

Our association was born from the passion and commitment of the current president Sonia Santoni, who decided to reclaim and equip this area in the Italian capital to bring people closer to an exciting sport that puts you in direct contact with one of the noblest and most sensitive animals in nature.

Over the years the Horses and Angeles association has organized itself to allow children and adults with disabilities to have fun together with our horses in maximum safety thanks to the professional experts that we have for this recreational activity.

Our animals come, almost entirely, from difficult realities: some saved from certain slaughter, from violent former owners or no longer means of livelihood, or from states of total abandonment.
We take care of new arrivals individually and only after they have undergone a medical examination does the gradual inclusion in the pack begin for them.

Our horses live in the wild in an area of 34 hectares of fenced and secured land . The gradual insertion is necessary in order to recreate, in the animal, the necessary tranquility that it has lost due to the difficult past, the environmental change or any stress due to transport. Once he has regained his trust in man and has adapted to the new spaces, he will gradually begin to get to know the other horses to later take his place and his balance within the herd.

The goal of Horses and Angeles is to make people understand that the horse that lives in the wild develops a real social organization.
Our instructors, in addition to traditional riding techniques: (English, American, Cossack, equestrian, western, figurative, acrobatic vaulting and jumping) have studied and developed innovative teaching practices such as relaxation techniques, autogenic training and yoga on horseback , Pet terapy for the blind or deaf and dumb and behavioral and structural Pet Therapy for motor, intellectual, cognitive and mental disabilities.

The Horses and Angeles also organizes moments for romantic occasions such as declarations of love , wedding vows or horseback riding with a romantic aperitif at the end.
