CAI Ferrara is an alpine club that promotes the mountains in all its aspects, in particular hiking intended as a healthy and quality activity with particular attention to safety during activities.

CAI Ferrara Ciaspole organizes excursions with snowshoes during the winter period.

During the winter, the mountains arouse unique emotions thanks to the atmosphere that you breathe made of snow and ice that completely isolate you from the monotonous everyday life ...

The center organizes a hiking course with the use of snowshoes. The course consists of theoretical lessons that will take place on site and in several outings in a snowy environment.

During the lessons various topics will be covered from clothing to materials, with particular reference to safety and all the risks that can be run and how to avoid them.

The practical outings will deal with progression on snow, how to move with snowshoes and how to choose the route.

The course will consist of:

• three theoretical lessons
• two exits in a snowy environment

At the end of the course a certificate of participation will be issued.

CAI Ferrara Trekking offers hiking courses to all those who want to acquire the technical and theoretical preparation necessary to face with safety and autonomy, an itinerary with excursion level difficulties.

The center organizes the following courses:

• Basic course: divided into theoretical lessons, with topics that will address issues that are essential for the correct approach to the mountains, such as orientation, cartography and clothing, with particular attention to everything that means safety in the mountains, and practical exercises that will allow to get in touch with all types of planned routes.
• Advanced course: aimed at those who have some basic hiking experience or who, after having attended the basic course, want to deepen their technical knowledge by tackling excursions in a snowy environment with the use of the ice ax or equipped paths and via ferratas. It will be divided into theoretical lessons, with topics that will address essential issues for the correct approach to the mountains, such as orientation, cartography and clothing, with particular attention to everything that means safety in the mountains, and practical exercises that will allow you to get in touch with all the typologies foreseen in the routes with different difficulties.

Theoretical lessons will be common for both courses. As for the practical exits, they will take place in the same place, but with itineraries of different difficulty.
