Rifugio Calvanella

Rifugio Calvanella is a small building located at the foot of Monte Cimone, immersed in the splendid natural setting of Pian del Falco.

The center is a perfect meeting point for mountain lovers both in summer and in winter, since the 1950s it has been managed by the family of Barbara Milani, former athlete of the A slalom national team, ski instructor Alpine, trainer and national instructor.

You can stay in simple and comfortable rooms and treat yourself to the pleasure of a cuisine rich in delicious dishes typical of the Emilian tradition.

In summer Rifugio Calvanella offers a perfect accommodation point for all MTB and Trekking enthusiasts, thanks to its strategic position, particularly interesting for all hiking practices, right in the heart of the Cimone Bike Park and a short distance from the Adventure Park Cimone.

In winter, the Refuge turns into the base camp for snow sports lovers, thanks to its location very close to the ski lifts and the ski-bus which makes the slopes reachable, and to the presence of in front of the structure, the school field where children can make their first contacts with skiing.

The locality of Pian del Falco is conveniently connected to Sestola both by an easily traversable road and by a chairlift: it is considered, for its vast panorama, the balcony of the Modena Apennines .

Rifugio Calvanella Sci is the ideal base for mountain enthusiasts who want to spend their holidays immersed in nature, a short distance from the ski slopes and in a welcoming, located in the fascinating natural scenery of Pien di Falco, at the foot of Monte Cimone .

The refuge has been managed since 1950 by the family of Barbara Milani, former athlete of the national A slalom, Alpine ski instructor, trainer and national instructor.

Positioned right in front of the structure, the instructors organize individual lessons or group carried out with the new methodology and teaching 2010, designed specifically for teaching children: specific language, special ludic-didactic material and traditional games already known by children, will be the starting point for the finalized learning of motor and technical skills.

The lessons are aimed at everyone, from the beginner to the expert skier , adapted to the specific needs of the individual student, guaranteeing a fun and safe learning, with the possibility of following a technical preparation at the preselection tests for alpine ski instructors .

Rifugio Calvanella MTB is the ideal place to live in contact with nature and enjoy a beautiful view of the Modena plain.

Taking advantage of the splendid position in which the structure is located, in Pian del Falco, right at the foot of Mount Cimone, you will have the opportunity to practice many sports.

Furthermore, from spring to autumn, right in front of our refuge hotel, there is the arrival of the chairlift that goes up directly from the village of Sestola and which allows the numerous lovers of MTB and Downhill to embark on adrenaline-pumping trails or set off on fantastic All Mountain tours .

Instructors will also be available to accompany clients along the wonderful trails in the area.
