The Magna Grecia Association, located in Tricase Porto in the province of Lecce, is responsible for keeping the seafaring culture of the Leccese people alive through its cultural centre, rediscovering and nurturing history and nautical activities with historic boats from the ancient port of Tricase.

The same port hosts the Association's sailing school so that maritime culture is not lost, thanks to the expert crews of these historic boats.

On board its sailing boats, Magna Grecia organizes excursions and daily cruises in the company of expert navigators associated along the coasts of Salento, where only boats of this size and ease of handling can approach uncontaminated places.

Magna Grecia Vela awaits you at its Latin Sailing School to accompany you on an educational journey that combines the learning of techniques with the pleasure of adventure at sea.

The crew of a sailing boat is like a small community in which respect and collaboration are the key values on which navigation is based.

Sailing is therefore an educational experience from many points of view, especially human, and those interested in the planned activities of the Magna Grecia Vela Association will be able to choose from the following options:

Educational trips on board the flagship Portus Veneris
Latin sailing course
Theoretical and practical course on knots and tyings
Practical rowing course
Seafood cooking class
Seawatching and marine biology course for young people

Depending on the needs of the participants (both individuals and groups), it is possible to organize tailor-made courses. Magna Grecia Vela also organizes school cruises, aimed at deepening the practice at sea and coexistence in crew.
