Description of Scuola Sucai Torino Skiing

The Sucai Torino Sci School offers its students a rich training program.

Registration for ski mountaineering courses is open to CAI members who have reached the age of 16 (children under 18 must submit the application signed by a parent or guardian).

The registration fee includes the educational organization and the use of school equipment (rescue material, mountaineering equipment).

We offer our members valid support that is not only practical but also theoretical, as good training is essential to practice ski mountaineering safely.

Theoretical lessons will be differentiated according to the programs included in the courses:

  • SA1 course (introduction) - aimed at those who already have a fair amount of skiing ability and want to get closer to the practice of ski mountaineering; climbing technique; conducting the trip; rescue simulation; off-piste descent technique.
  • SA2 course (in-depth analysis) - outings of greater physical and technical commitment; more specific notions of progression on glaciers, basic elements of progression on rock and ice, mountain rescue, bivouac technique.

For new members, the track test and one of the first two outings are mandatory to evaluate their suitability for practicing the course.

Assiduous participation in trips is essential for adequate physical training and for the regular implementation of the educational program.

If you wish to receive further information, contact the Sucai Torino Sci School and you will receive an answer as soon as possible.

Description of Scuola Sucai Torino Snowboarding

The Sucai Torino Snowboard School organizes exclusive snowboard mountaineering courses for CAI members who have reached the age of 16.

It is possible to register until all available places are filled and the participation fee includes the teaching organization and use of the School's equipment.

The SBA Snowboard course is aimed at those who, already in possession of a good downhill technique, intend to approach the practice of snowboard-mountaineering.

All the basics to practice this discipline correctly are taught, including:

  • snowshoe climbing technique
  • conducting the trip
  • rescue simulation
  • off-piste descent technique.

These topics will be subject to both practical and theoretical evaluation.

The course involves a gradual commitment in order to allow participation even for those who do not already have experience.

The topics covered are also subject to verification and their correct knowledge is essential for the continuation of the course.

As regards the necessary equipment, it is possible to use a snowboard equipped with soft or hard bindings. For the climb we recommend the use of snowshoes and you will also need a bag and mountain clothing.

The use of the avalanche search device (ARTVA) as well as the shovel and probe is mandatory (the School supplies these to students enrolling for the first time).

The secretariat of the Sucai Torino Snowboard School is available to anyone wishing to receive further information. Contact us!
