CAI Pinerolo

CAI Pinerolo is a mountaineering center based in Pinerolo, in the province of Turin, founded in 1863 by Quintino Sella, a man of science and profound culture.

The purpose of the Club is to raise awareness of the mountains and to facilitate hiking, climbing and scientific exploration. Infinite passions and different interests live in the Club, all united by a single passion for the mountains.

In the club there are people who love hiking, those who climb vertiginous walls, those who practice ski mountaineering, those who go down into the caves.

The club tries to offer concrete solutions and help to anyone who shares the same passions. The concrete answers are the many shelters, the large number of guides and instructors, the countless courses, conferences, debates, especially the schools, conceived as training centers and testimony of values.

Every year the section organizes a good number of social outings, of a hiking, mountaineering, ski mountaineering, mountain biking, speleological, canyoning and various nature.

CAI Pinerolo Canyoning is an alpine club with a passion for nature and more particularly for the mountains and above all for canyoning excursions.

Canyoning (canyoning), a sport that falls between mountaineering and speleological practice and white water sports, has also been developing in Italy for some time.

The canyon is a wild place where there is perfect harmony between water, rock and sun. The narrow vertical walls of the canyons guard a secret world, unattainable if not using appropriate techniques where time passes slowly, much slower than the waters that run through it.

The long flooded corridors that are crossed by swimming but when it meets verticality it becomes vertigo, waterfall, toboggan, noise, a dance among the spray to regain the peace of the valley floor. In any canyon you can find the adventure you are looking for!

The club offers an introductory course to canyoning which will take place between May and June. According to a consolidated tradition, theoretical lessons will alternate with practical exits in the gorges of the area, culminating in a 2-day internship. It is necessary to know how to swim, to be a member of the center and to want to have fun.

CAI Pinerolo Sci is an alpine club born from a passion for snow and mountains. The center is based in Pinerolo in the province of Turin and promotes alpine and mountain skiing by organizing ski courses and alpine skiing excursions.

Ski mountaineering is a discipline that requires not only skill and physical preparation, but also a careful knowledge of the mountain environment, the climate, the snowpack. For this activity the center organizes a course consisting of 8 outputs.

With the passing of the weeks, the trips will become longer, so as to allow everyone, with the necessary training, to make excursions of great satisfaction. The only requirements: have basic skiing technique and practice some physical activity.

We remind you that theoretical lessons will be held on site to deepen some topics for the practice of ski mountaineering in total safety.
It also organizes two ski courses for all members who want to undertake or improve ski preparation respectively in the descent.

The courses will be held in the months of January and February on the Olympic snows of Pragelato. The lessons, lasting three hours each (from 2pm to 5pm), will be held weekly on Saturday afternoon, for a total of 15 hours of lessons.

CAI Pinerolo Trekking is an alpine center based in the province of Turin in Pinerolo.

The club has been working with young people for years, in the belief that love for the mountains and nature is an important part of a person's education.

The alpine club has always organized courses aimed at stimulating children to enjoy first-hand discovery of the alpine environment. The course is aimed at children between the ages of nine and eighteen, and is divided into two age groups: a first level for children between nine and fourteen, and a second level from fifteen to eighteen.

The activities of the first level are hiking, while those of the second also want to offer an approach to the high mountain environment and easy mountaineering.

The course will run from the end of April to the first weekend of July.

The exits are on a fortnightly basis and will be supplemented by some evening educational activities carried out at the registered office.

In addition to offering trekking courses, the center organizes countless alpine excursions and itineraries for every need and difficulty.

CAI Pinerolo MTB is an alpine club that promotes outdoor sports in contact with nature and the mountains. Mountain Bike excursions are among the activities organized by the Alpine Center.

Bikes and mountains have an ancient history, for example reaching the start of an alpine excursion by bicycle was common before the advent of mass motorization.

The center organizes mountain biking courses for children and teenagers. It is a very rich and ambitious program, which aims to be an educational moment for children and teenagers to discover the pleasure of cycling.

Mountain biking is able to bring to life moments of aggregation, fun and group solidarity, with the rediscovery of values that have gradually weakened with the hectic life of our days.

The program we propose aims to teach you how to use the mountain bike correctly and safely. The course is held by bike instructors graduated from the Federal School of Off-road Cycling of the Italian Cycling Federation, and AC acronym for Cicloescursionismo Accompagnatore del CAI.

In addition, the center organizes for those who want to cycle during the week, from March to October. Therefore, for those who have free time and want to dedicate it to this wonderful sport, there are trips suitable for everyone, starting from the age of 14. Riding the bike, the use of a protective helmet is mandatory, as well as clothing suitable for the mountains.
