Description of Palazzo Colonna

Come and discover the beautiful Palazzo Colonna, in splendid Rome!

This building is one of the largest private palaces in the city: the construction is due to the family of the same name who, after starting it in the 14th century, remained to live in the palace for eight centuries.

The overlap of the different architectural styles is due to the fact that the works continued over the years and allows us to observe, both internally and externally, the transition from one era to another.

Inside, the Galleria Colonna is unmissable: commissioned in 1600, it represents a small pearl of Roman Baroque. It was conceived as a room in which the memorable victory of Lepanto could be represented.

Divided into various rooms, specifically the Gallery is structured between: the Hall of the War Column, Sala Grande, Hall of Landscapes and the Hall of the Apotheosis of Martin V.

To date, the Palace is open to the public and can be visited by taking guided or unguided tours, during which it will be possible to admire the beauty of the building and admire the numerous works of art. art contained within it.
