Pantheon

If you are visiting the wonderful city of Rome, you cannot miss visiting the famous Pantheon!

Also known as the Basilica of Santa Maria ad Martyres, it is the best preserved building of classical antiquity of all in the city.

The building, whose construction dates back tobetween 27 and 25 BC, was strongly desired byMarcus Vipsanius Agrippa and erected in honor of Augustus and, subsequently, dedicated to the divinities of the Giulio Claudia family.

Upon entering, you will find a circular hall 43.30 meters in diameter and as many in height: the coffered dome, which ends with a circular opening, gives incredible plays of light inside the Basilica and, above all, transforms the Pantheon in an astronomical clock.
