Associazione Via del Mare

The Via del Mare Association organizes hiking and educational activities in Lombardy.

The fundamental objective of this Association is the promotion of the cultural peculiarities , naturalistic and socio-economic that characterize the areas of five provinces: Milan, Pavia, Alessandria, Piacenza and Genoa, as well as the three very important natural areas made up of the Ticino, Antola and Portofino parks.

All the activities promoted by Via del Mare aim to develop, through the knowledge of the territory, a collective sensitivity of citizens and local administrators towards the socio-economic and environmental problems of the territories in which they themselves are active, generating a continuous increase in mutual knowledge through the promotion of contamination and collaboration between cultures, traditions, customs, professionalism and experiences.

Among the direct purposes of which the Via del Mare Association consists are:

• promotion and development of ecotourism,
• didactic activity and research in the naturalistic field,
• Commitment to the implementation of economic and social development projects, inspired by the principles and rules of sustainable and environmentally friendly development, in the tourism, recreational, educational and scientific fields;
• proposals for measures and policies for the construction of structures that facilitate and encourage the spread of ecotourism and the use of ecological means of transport.

Specifically, thanks to the non-profit Association , Via del Mare you can participate in:

• hiking,
• by bicycle,
• on horseback,
• proposals for schools and integration of diversity.

Associazione Via del Mare Ciaspole organizes guided excursions even in winter.

The program of activities and proposals of the Associazione Via del Mare does not stop even in winter, our desire to take you to know nature and its wonders continues with snowshoes at the foot, along the mountains and ridges of the Staffora, Versa, Tidone, Curone, Borbera, Trebbia, Scrivia and Fontanabuona valleys.

Our trained environmental hiking guides will lead you to discover the incredible landscape transformed by the blanket of snow, where it will be fascinating to enter.

Associazione Via del Mare MTB makes use of prepared hiking guides to take you on excursions along the routes of the Via del Mare.

The Via del Mare is a 170 kim hiking corridor (main axis) which is joined by the hundreds of km that make up its variants and connections, in a network of green paths that connect an area of 11,000 sq km between the provinces of Milan, Pavia, Alessandria, Piacenza and then, to the south, up to Portofino.

The network is not only a geographical link for the hiker, but also an imaginary connection network that brings together a varied world of nature, culture, local traditions and food and wine.

The Via del Mare Trekking Association organizes walking excursions in the VM green network.

Every year we develop many proposals of different difficulty:

• tourist routes,
• hiking trails,
• routes for expert hikers,

All managed by our expert Environmental Hiking Guides certified AIGAE and many opportunities to live unique experiences of contact with the territory and discovery of nature.

Our routes wind along the 11,000 sq km that make up the territorial corridor of green itineraries that combine the different natural, cultural and local and food and wine traditions of the five provinces: Milan, Pavia, Alessandria , Piacenza and Genoa, but not only, our association also takes you on a journey , to discover the most interesting areas from the hiking point of view in the world.

Among the proposals of the Via del Mare Association you will also find basic hiking courses and sensory paths for the disabled and excursion activities especially designed for schools, to discover of biodiversity.
