• Snowshoes or snowshoes: consists of a hiking activity that is practiced with these tools. Thanks to snowshoes you can walk on the snow and reach unspoiled landscapes, which could not be reached otherwise.
• MTB: in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park there are ring cycling routes to be covered by MTB.
• Horseback riding: our territory offers you a horse trail that extends for 320 km along the Gran Sasso. They are magnificent paths and trails surrounded by nature.
• Trekking: can be practiced in the Abruzzo and Monti della Laga National Park. The trails are immersed in nature and will allow you to enjoy breathtaking landscapes and views.

Have you ever walked with snowshoes? At our facility, l Grottino di Assergi (L'Aquila), it is possible to practice this beautiful and unique activity. Snowshoes or snowshoes are a tool that in the past was used to move when the snow was very abundant and prevented walking. Today they are used to hike along snowy paths , which can only be covered with snowshoes. Thanks to these means it is possible to reach uncontaminated places that in the winter period could not be reached in another way. What are you waiting for? To walk with snowshoes, no particular physical needs are required, it only requires constant and regular physical activity. We have routes of all levels and all degrees of difficulty. There are three types of snowshoes:

• Bean: the cheapest, the oldest. They have a typical bean shape and are rarely used in hiking.
• Canadians: are larger and consist of a "thing", suitable for deep snow.
• Modern: this is the most modern version that combines the first two models. They are used for excursions and are suitable for this activity.

At our B&B Il Grottino di Assergi (L'Aquila) it is possible to enjoy the beautiful landscapes through a series of sporting activities, including horse riding . The horse trail of the Gran Sasso extends for 320 km , consisting of 11 water points, is the longest horse trail in Italy that crosses 3 provinces. Here are the four itineraries in the saddle that we propose:

• Rigopiano Capestrano: horse trail route that also allows you to discover the Tirino Valley and the river of the same name. You will cross the Rigopiano plateau and other beautiful areas.
• Assergi Campotosto: itinerary that crosses the Vasto valley. It will give you unique emotions in the name of uncontaminated nature.
• Capestrano Assergi: A good part of the Terre della Baronia district, typical for its medieval characteristics, is crossed.
• Capotosto Cortino: the route will take you from Lake Capotosto to Monti della Laga. Greenery will be your main distraction.

Il Grottino di Assergi (L'Aquila) is a small and elegant B&B that is surrounded by nature, in the beautiful Abruzzo landscapes. At our facility we offer a series of interesting sports activities that you can practice in the wonderful parks that surround us. Among these activities we find MTB , which as you well know is the activity practiced with mountain biking. In fact, we have a series of cycle paths that run through the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park . They are ring circuits around the Gran Sasso that will allow you to practice this activity in total safety and above all they will allow you to enjoy a wonderful view.

Here are the MTB excursions that we offer:

• From Monte Cristo to Rocca Calascio: it is an excursion that lasts about 5 hours, the level of difficulty is high in fact it is a very challenging route. The views and views are unique and inimitable.
• Assergi San Pietro della Jenca: easy excursion for everyone with a duration of about an hour and a half. The difference in altitude is 423 meters.
