Pantalicando t.s. MTB offers its customers bicycle itineraries through the suggestions of the Pantalica, Valle dell’Anapo and Torrente Cavagrande Reserve, in the period of March and November.
With the mountain bikes of the center we will undertake the path of Giarranauti, a cycle path that winds through a wonderful naturalistic, historical-archaeological and ethno-anthropological context. It is one of the most important areas of the island, an extraordinary environment in which you will travel guided by a Pantalicando guide.
Our program touches the Vicus di Giarranauti to take you to immerse yourself in the Pantalica archeology, in a path that sees as a starting point the entrance of Contrada Palombazza and its conclusion on the plateau of Giarranauti.
Along the route we will have the opportunity to observe the Byzantine settlement of Giarranaut i, one of the very few sites that has preserved structures relevant to the town of this age, a "vicus", in fact, composed of just over a dozen houses, built around a small single-ship church.
Among the various houses, there are enclosures closed by walls, probably formerly dedicated to livestock and courtyards for internal roads.
About 500 meters from the Vicus the important rectangular basins dug into the rock were found which, arranged on two levels, rise along the slopes of the hill. Wide, low and communicating, the tanks are connected to channels and long theories of dimples, near a deep cistern dug into the rock, still in use today, fed by a complex network of rainwater drainage channels, probably intended for tannery business.
The last phase of the village's life is estimated to be the 6th century AD, in significant coincidence with the rise of the rock settlements of nearby Pantalica.

Pantalicando t.s. Speleology suggests hiking itineraries among the caves of the Necropolis of Pantalica .
These are excursion-type itineraries that generally wind along paths or traces of paths, which can be covered in its entirety in 3-4 hours.
The route will take you, about nine kilometers from Ferla by bus, to the Filiporto saddle, certainly the easiest access to Pantalica.
The difference in height that hikers will face, uphill and downhill, is about 200 meters.
Thanks to the ease of access from Filiporto, you will have the opportunity to reach the gates of the necropolis by motorized vehicles.
