Where to go white water rafting in Piedmont?

- Province of Vercelli: As we previously mentioned, the Sesia River is one of the best areas for rafting. For aficionados of classic rafting, the route from Balmuccia to Varallo is ideal. With a length of 10 km and a medium difficulty, we offer a three-hour adventure in the stretch of the river Sesia that flows through the picturesque and eponymous Valsesia, in the province of Vercelli. For the younger ones, in the mountain village of Vocca, a gentle descent is available, accompanied by adults and of course, an instructor. The stretch from Piode to Scopa, which is medium-high in difficulty, is recommended for the more experienced.

- Province of Cuneo: The Stura di Demonte, in the province of Cuneo, is a notable river that is navigable throughout the year, including during the summer. The rafting route runs for 1.5 hours and 8 kilometres between the villages of Moiola and Roccasparvera, passing through deep vegetation and narrow gorges. For individuals who want more than one outing, rafting courses and schools are available at Roccasparvera. Adults and children as young as six years can participate in 3-hour rafting activities in the Gaiola area.

- Province of Turin: The Dora-Riparia, which runs through the Susa Valley near Cesana, is a popular rafting adventure in Turin. The descent includes pathways for the youngest and a more strenuous one for the most experienced and sporty along the magnificent gorges between Cesana and Oulx. You can opt for the '2-day' descent offers a 24-hour adventure with camping and a barbecue in the middle of nature if you are feeling particularly adventurous and want to push yourself.

- In the geographical region of Canavese: the Dora Baltea flows. This river is the left-hand tributary of the river Po and an ideal environment for children to practice rafting as a water sport, as the river offers a gentle descent in an inflatable boat in many places. Alternatively, the Chiusella, Orco, and Soana torrents offer exciting rafting activities.

- Alessandria Province: How can we not mention River Po itself? Yes, you read that correctly! Rafting on this river is a must-do activity. We recommend the rafting routes between the cities of San Mauro Torinese and Casale Monferrato in the province of Alessandria. Here, the routes are classified as 'Easy Rafting' with rubber dinghies from 6 to 10 seats, both for children and the elderly. Alternatively, in the province of Vercelli, in Palazzolo Vercellese, specifically in the stretch between Crescentino and Palazzolo Vercellese, there are tourist rafting trips in the Po River Park for everyone.
