Santa Caterina Valfurva Ciaspole offers unique itineraries and routes for those who love the mountains in all its aspects, thanks to the landscape of the mountain area of the Ortles -Cevedale group.

A unique landscape, where the snow is the master, giving a magical touch to the surrounding nature.

The center organizes itineraries with alpine guides for snowshoeing in the woods, treading on the soft fresh snow and listening to the sound of uncontaminated nature. You can walk the most suggestive corners of the valley with snowshoes.

The routes organized by the center include:

• Path of the bows: from "La Fonte", Santa Caterina Valfurva (1738 m) to "La Fonte", Santa Caterina Valfurva (1738 m). Created and inaugurated in 2007 by ski champion Manuela Di Centa, the "path of the flakes" is a circular itinerary to be traveled without the need for escorts or guides, as it is perfectly signposted. Starting from the center "La Fonte", skirt the cross-country track following the signs; walk along the plain of Santa Caterina Valfurva towards Valle dei Forni and enter the woods and meadows of Nassegno before returning to the town center. (Difficulty: easy, duration: 2 hours, length: 3 km)

• Path of Paradise: from Santa Caterina Valfurva (1738 m) to Plaghera (2000 m). From the town center take the road towards the Gavia pass. Continue in the woods, climbing gently for 4 km, and reach the junction leading to the Paradiso Refuge and the Sci 2000 refuge. (Difficulty: easy, duration: 2 hours (ascent) 1 hour (descent), length: 8 km)
• Path of the ovens: From Santa Caterina Valfurva to Rifugio Forni (2178 m). Starting from the town square, take the road that leads to the Forni refuge. After facing a decent climb, reach the Stella Alpina restaurant (closed) from where it is possible to see the Forni refuge in the distance. Drive 800 m uphill slightly and reach the Forni refuge, in front of the homonymous glacier. From mid-March, at the refuge, bars and restaurants are active; it is also possible to stay overnight at the property. The area is renowned for the sighting of roe deer, chamois and deer. (Difficulty: medium, duration: 2 hours, length: 10 km)
• Path of the chapels: from Santa Caterina Valfurva (1738 m) to Tov (1900 m). Starting from Piazza Magliavaca, after 100 m in the direction of Bormio, turn right. Climb up the path to a small votive chapel located on a hairpin bend. Continue to climb up to the Sell huts and then to the Tov huts (1876 m) where you can admire an old hand-carved crucifix. Old huts, the Pizzo Tresero and the opposite side with its ski lifts and the prestigious track "Deborah Compagnoni" are among the attractions that can be admired from where you are. Continuealong the path to the right and, after passing a flat stretch, descend towards the village, entering the woods along the path that leads back to piazza Magliavaca. During the descent, it is advisable to pay attention to some short sections that could be frozen. (Difficulty: medium, duration: 2 hours, length: 3.5 km)
• Path of the sun: from Santa Caterina Valfurva (1738 m) to Sunny Valley (2800 m). Reach the Cresta Sobretta with the Santa Caterina Valfurva cable car and descend towards the Valle dell'Alpe. Take the beaten path and signposted next to the Sunny Valley refuge. From this point it is possible to admire, almost touching, the snowy peaks of the Tresero, Cevedale and Gran Zebrù mountains. The Sunny Valley refuge offers snacks or typical Valtellina lunches and a permanent photographic exhibition on the Great War fought in these mountains. Return to the valley by cable car (last descent at 16.30), admiring the valley that extends from Santa Caterina Valfurva to Bormio. (Difficulty: easy, length: 2 km.)
