At the end of the 80s, with the aim of creating a center for white water sports in the Apennines, we at Rafting Le Marmore invested our energies in a powerful work: making it navigable the Nera river in the downstream section of the Marmore Falls.

It is contact with a world in constant movement, a new, exhilarating experience, accessible to everyone, even children in the "soft" section within the Nera River Park.

At Rafting Le Marmore you can practice sports such as:

And for children we also organize the same activities but in a soft version.

The Rafting Le Marmore Kayak Center organizes river canoe courses all year round, structured into 5 lessons and 3 levels of difficulty, and which generally take place over three weekends or from Monday to Friday in the summer months.

The school is recognized by the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation and uses exclusively qualified canoe instructors, the only ones able to guarantee correct learning of the fundamental current techniques in complete safety.

Lessons last approximately 3 hours each, in groups of 5-6 students. There are also special canoe slalom courses in the facility on the last stretch of the Nera rafting route, summer courses for children, and the center is qualified to teach canoeing for the disabled.

Also known as canyoning, it is a way of traveling along the mountain, therefore of knowing it, and it should be said, deeply.

From the high peaks of the Sibillini Mountains the water flows, flowing into a thousand streams towards the Valnerina through sinuous and deep paths which in its millenary erosive action has dug into the rock.

Accompanied by Rafting Le Marmore Canyoning staff qualified by a mountain guide specialized in canyoning, you lower yourself inside with ropes, sliding on the toboggans and diving into the pools.

For those who are new to the experience and want to have excitement with little effort, you can descend into the Fosso di Rocca Gelli, with abseils on a rope of maximum 15 meters (duration 2 hours).

Otherwise, if you have more time and a greater sporting spirit, there is the Forra del Casco, also about 20 minutes away by car from the "le Marmore" centre, but where the jumps are up to 30 meters (duration 4 hours).

Clothing and technical equipment are provided by the organization.

In Umbria, under the Marmore Falls, less than an hour's drive from Rome, there is an ideal place for rafting: the fantastic descent of the rapids in a dinghy.

Here the Nera river flows fast, boiling over the rocks for over three kilometres, forming fourth degree rapids (rafting difficulties range from 1 to 6), surrounded by lush vegetation, in an environment that seems tropical.

But as has happened with the thousands of passionate people who have wanted to experience the thrill of it over the last ten years, you don't need to have any particular skills to do so: you just need to know how to swim well and be in good health.

On each dinghy there is room for six people, generally at their first experience, and the qualified guide of the F.I.Raft (Italian Rafting Federation) who gives the orders during the descent which lasts about an hour.

The river rumbles as it crashes between the rocks, the rapids envelop you, transmitting their energy to you, your heart beats fast, but there is no problem of ending up in the water because you are already in it.

This is nothing other than the new, very engaging way to descend into the current.

Each participant will be equipped with a neoprene wetsuit, a life jacket, a helmet and diving fins.

And then there is the hydrospeed, a sort of small floating plastic "bob" to hold firmly with the hands which allows you to float safely in the rapids.

But it's not difficult, nor does it take much strength; just follow the water lines of the river and follow the instructions of the guide who follows you in your games in the current.
