Trekking excursion "Morning adventure" Sicily

An unmissable soft trekking excursion for lovers of Sicily who want to discover the beauty of this incredible island and its scenery.

Thanks to the trained and expert local guides you will be able to move along the southern side of Etna to discover the immense caldera depression called Valle del Bove.
Stop 1 - Valle del Bove: We will begin our excursion with the exciting trekking route that will lead us to the southern edge of the immense long caldera depression (Valle del Bove). 7 km and 5 km wide. Participants will be able to observe the south-east summit crater and be conquered by the silence in one of the most beautiful sites in the entire Etna volcanic area.

Stop 2 - Cassone Cave: We will enter, with the appropriate equipment, inside one of the over 200 caves registered in the Etna volcanic area. The Cassone cave (eruption of 1792) is almost 300 meters long and is a clear example of the result of the cave-in process in the Etna lava flows.

Stop 3 - Silverstri Craters/Rifugio Sapienza: The end of our route will see us at an altitude of 1900 m, in this area in 1892 an alignment of five craters relating to the same was formed eruptive fracture called “buttonhole” in volcanological jargon. Two of these were named after Orazio Silvestri, a famous Florentine geologist.
